**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
As the **Regional Epidemiologist **within the Medicine team, you will be responsible for initiating and driving strategic (inter-)national Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies within the MIDI region to enable and improve patient access to Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) therapies. In this position, you will identify and translate the critical evidence gaps into fit-for-purpose studies and engage with other countries in the region to timely execute and deliver studies.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for strengthening our Value Propositions through evidence generation and results being effectively communicated to drive internal & external decision making.
**This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Regional Team Lead Epidemiology & RWE.**
This is an exciting role within an international dynamic team where you will be able to drive innovation through RWE within the MIDI region.
**YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to lead development & delivery of high-quality non-interventional studies (ONIS) for priority BI assets across the MIDI region, including both pipeline and marketed products.
- Lead the design, execution, and oversight of RWE studies, and ensure that results are effectively communicated to drive internal and external decision making.
- Development of study protocols (including SAP and DMP) and tailored publication plans to increase awareness of generated evidence.
- Identify critical evidence gaps, study concept development and result dissemination to different audiences.
- Oversee, contribute to, and manage study quality, scientific content, resources, project plan, budgets, and vendor management.
- Explore research opportunities, potential data sources and their applicability for RWE generation to address important evidence gaps and engage in strategic partnerships across the region.
- Preparing scientific abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts for conferences and/or peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in the development & optimization of new processes, SOPs, trainings, and working documents to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.
- Contribute as cross-functional team member to the development of regional integrated assets evidence plans (AEPs) and ensure timely generation of RWE.Provide epidemiological and statistical expertise to market access to support economic modelling and preparation of value dossiers for HTA submissions.
**WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM**:
- **Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD) and/or Master’s degree (MBA, MSc) in Epidemiology, or background in HEOR, Medicine or related field with at least 2 years of experience in designing and running RWE studies.**:
- **Experience within pharmaceutical industry or CRO, **ideally across multiple phases of development/commercialization.**:
- Strong, practical knowledge of epidemiology/ RWE methods, data sources and analytical methods.
- Preferably knowledge of healthcare systems in countries within the MIDI region.
- Experience with secondary data use and primary data collection, including using variety of data sources such as healthcare claims and electronic health records.
- Experience designing and conducting non-interventional/RWE studies, and preferably conducting registry-based registry.
- **Excellent command of the English language**:
- additional European language is a plus.
- Collaborative, proactive working style, with high accountability & agility.
- Effective cross-functional, cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, with a strong performance orientation.
- Ability to prioritize across multiple projects, and effective collaboration in matrix structures.
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
