**Vertical Strategy Manager, Retail, Unified Commerce**

Adyen processes over €250BN a year for omni-channel customers (e.g. McDonalds, Uniqlo, H&M, and Hilton). The Unified Commerce Pillar's five-year ambition is to accelerate the digital transformation of omnichannel businesses with unified payments, broader financial technology and data solutions. Our global function orchestrates the alignment between commercial, product, and operational teams to continue this exceptional 30%+ YoY growth in this space.

The Vertical Strategy Manager, Retail, Unified Commerce will play a critical role in the teams' success by driving the commercial strategy and revenue growth initiatives for net new business acquisition as well as growth of existing customers within our retail vertical.

This role is a global role but will have a focus in EMEA with additional projects taken on as they become a strategic priority for our vertical to grow.

**What you'll do**
- Set the growth strategy for the Unified Commerce Retail Vertical and influence Adyen stakeholders to execute the strategy (e.g. Partnerships, Marketing, Commercial, and Product)
- Act as the voice of the customer and analyze vertical specific customer behavior to identify opportunities for product and service innovation and differentiation.
- Develop and maintain customer segmentation to identify opportunities for revenue growth and market expansion.
- Enable and drive commercial execution.
- In partnership with our Product & Strategy teams, leverage knowledge to strategically enable commercial teams to win deals vs. the competition / grow existing customers, e.g. sales motion guidance, selling materials, knowledge share, etc.
- Define pricing strategies and packaging strategies to maximize profitability and market share within the Retail Vertical.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact the Retail vertical, and proactively identify strategic opportunities or risks.

**Who you are**
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in consulting, strategy, payments, or related strategic go-to-market roles.
- Experience in retail and/or payments is a plus but a huge passion for retail is a must
- Experience and passion for both product strategy and go-to-market strategy & execution.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to lead through influence and collaborate across functions.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including the development of marketing and sales collateral, and articulating strategy to internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical skills as we strive for data driven decision making.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and change and thrive in a fast-paced environment; we have a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a bias for action is preferred as we love to "Launch fast and Iterate".
- Desire to engage with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Sales, and Marketing.
- Desire to be a culture champion on the team and beyond to make Adyen a better place to work for all.
