The Procurement Raw Material Category Lead is a member of the European Procurement team. You’ll be the Procurement Lead at European level for sourcing of almonds, nuts, seeds, legumes and citrus amongst other raw material categories. Your main objective is to ensure maximum value for Dawn and its customers, securing supply in line with business needs and following up specific projects.

Next to the category lead role, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of the procurement function, executing projects such as:

- Implement the sourcing process steps linked to strategy building and SRM within the EU procurement team.
- Strengthen the connection to the sales directors through aligning procurement category strategies and sharing market intelligence
- Generate improvements on cross functional collaboration for the EU Procurement team.
- Support the integration program of Dawn and Royal Steensma.

The Procurement Category Lead reports to the VP Procurement EU & AMEAP. You will be based out of our production site in Vlaardingen, where we produce almond paste, among other products. You will also visit our head-office in Amstelveen frequently. We are looking for an experienced professional with potential to grow within our new organisation.

**The Procurement Category Lead role can be summarized as follows**:

- Close collaboration with stakeholders throughout the entire value chain.
- Demand analysis: volumes, customer base, specification, quality, geo-spread, new raw materials.
- Market analysis and creation of market intelligence.
- Create, align and maintain the category strategy.
- Maintain and optimize the supplier portfolio to ensure best possible supply base.
- Supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, SAP updates, implementing new supply chains.
- Generate creative and smart opportunities for additional value.
- Drive risk management.
- Drive supplier evaluation process and perform supplier audits in collaboration with quality where necessary.
- Support introduction of new raw materials.
- Follow up supplier complaints with the quality department.

**What Does It Take to be a Procurement Category Lead at Dawn Foods?**

You are an experienced Procurement professional with an analytical, creative mind, strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and a solid background in procurement of raw materials in the food industry. You recognize and capitalize market opportunities keeping a strategic outlook supported by solid data and analysis.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

- Educational background in Business, Economics or another relevant field.
- A minimum of 8 years Procurement experience.
- Experience in a multinational food industry business.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
- Experience in commodities and categories of Nuts, Seeds and Legumes is preferred.
