The Amstel Hotel, with its’ unique location at the Amstel River, received the first guests in 1867, and has ever since been known for its’ majestic appearance and homely warmth feeling. The Amstel Hotel is characterized by its’ rich history of genuine hospitality and exceptional luxury.

WHAT IS THE JOB?

To carry out delegated back-of-the-house cleaning duties, ensuring that the H.A.C.C.P. regulations are up to standard. To ensure that all operating equipment is in an impeccable state and the department is kept organised and tidy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily cleaning tasks assigned through Daily/Weekly/Monthly Cleaning Schedules, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Adhere to the chemical codes of practice outlined in the soap supplier's manual.
- Safely and efficiently use Stewarding equipment, including Dishwashing Machines, Glasswashing Machines, Floor/Water Cleaning Machines, Silver Burnisher, and Cardboard Compactor.
- Thoroughly clean operational equipment, such as Cutlery, Crockery, Silverware, Glassware, Chinaware, Pots & Pans, and Kitchen Utensils, meeting required standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in Stewarding storage and garbage areas.
- Oversee the canteen, including stock management, pre/post-meal cleanup, and ensuring an adequate food supply during lunch/dinner.
- Minimize food waste and manage garbage disposal according to set intervals, adhering to hygiene standards and implementing duties in line with Food Hygiene (HACCP) Regulations.
- Sort and maintain the bottle area.
- Adhere to company, hotel, and statutory rules, regulations, and policies.
- Take responsibility for Fire Life Safety (FLS) at work.
- Maintain security awareness, reporting suspicious circumstances to your Supervisor.
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with colleagues, Supervisors, and Management to ensure efficient departmental teamwork and high morale.
- Attend training sessions or courses as requested by your Supervisor/Manager or at your own request.
- Follow established procedures for environmental protection within the hotel and grounds.
- Be aware of and execute departmental green-key standards.
- Ensure a smooth transition of duties by handing over your work to the next person.
