Neogene is seeking a highly motivated individual to join Neogene's Research and Development team as a **Bioinformatician**. In this role, the individual will assume responsibility for research projects involving structural bioinformatics. Liaising with the Research and Bioinformatics teams, the Bioinformatician will design and execute bioinformatic analyses to support ongoing research and innovation of our TCR discovery pipeline. The role is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and reports to the Principal Bioinformatician.
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
- Utilize bioinformatics tools and software to analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data.
- Develop and implement computational algorithms and pipelines for data analysis, quality control, and visualization.
- Perform statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to extract meaningful insights from biological data.
- Collaborate with biologists, immunologists, and other researchers to design experiments and provide data-driven insights.
- Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, and computational biology to inform research strategies.
- Document analysis procedures, results, and findings for internal and external reporting.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of in-house databases and bioinformatics resources.
- Provide training and support to colleagues in bioinformatics techniques and tools.
- Perform related duties and projects as assigned.
**Required Skills/Abilities**
- Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Applicants with a Master's with at least 5 years of experience can also apply.
- Hands-on experience with structural bioinformatics is a strong plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate results to a diverse cross-functional audience.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
- Experience in the field of (immuno-)oncology is a plus.
- Experience with analysis and interpretation of single cell data is a plus.
- Experience with the analysis and interpretation of large scale next-generation sequencing data sets by common NGS platforms (Illumina, PacBio and Oxford Nanopore) is a plus.
- Proficiency with Python and Bash is required. Competencies in additional (programming) languages are a plus.
