Utrecht Oost, Nederland Universiteit Utrecht Voltijd

Are you a passionate researcher with an interest in immune mechanisms and innovative models? The Immunology section at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic postdoc for multiple exciting research lines.

**Your job**:
One of the aims is mapping human T-cell receptors involved in the immune response to Chlamydia infections and integrate them into advanced cell culture systems to gain new insights into host-pathogen interactions and immune regulation.

In addition to this project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research on T-cell responses, using human and mouse models as well as complex cell culture systems. You will also participate in the teaching activities of the section.

Our Immunology group combines fundamental and applied research with a strong emphasis on vaccination, innovative immunomodulation (particularly in chronic inflammatory diseases), and understanding the mechanisms of cellular immunity to intracellular pathogens across a variety of species.

**Your qualities**:

- You hold a PhD degree and you have a strong background in vaccinology and/or immunology.
- You have affinity (and preferably experience) with human cell culture and immunological assays (e.g., flow cytometry).
- You are an independent person with good communication skills who can quickly take control over your project.
- You have strong proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Holding an article 9 animal science certification is considered an asset.

**Our offer**:
We offer:

- a position for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to three years in total;
- a working week of 32 to 40 hours and a gross monthly salary between €3,378 and €5,331 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale 10 under Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU));
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
- a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible employment conditions based on the collective labor agreement for Dutch Universities.

In addition to the terms of employment laid down in the CAO NU, Utrecht University has a number of schemes and facilities of its own for employees. This includes schemes facilitating professional development, leave schemes and schemes for sports and cultural activities, as well as discounts on software and other IT products. We also offer access to additional employee benefits through our Terms of Employment Options Model. In this way, we encourage our employees to continue to invest in their growth.
