**Data Scientist**: At Catalyze, we’re committed to transforming the grant-writing process with cutting-edge AI technology. As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in building the most advanced AI-powered grant-writing assistant in the industry. This role is perfect for someone who is curious, a natural problem solver, and passionate about data science and machine learning. You’ll leverage your expertise to work with large datasets, develop predictive models, and generate insights that will directly affect the quality of grant writing. This is a unique opportunity to lead a foundational project for Catalyze in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Data Preparation & Engineering**: Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets, including historical grant data, to ensure data quality and readiness for model training.
- **Model Development**: Develop and implement machine learning models, including LLMs (e.g., GPT-3, GPT-4), that are optimized for text generation, summarization, and recommendation tasks in grant writing.
- **Data Annotation & Feature Engineering**: Oversee the data annotation process and extract key features to enhance model performance and alignment with grant-writing requirements.
- **Model Optimization & Validation**: Continuously optimize models for accuracy and efficiency; conduct POC testing, validate model outputs, and refine algorithms based on feedback and performance metrics.
- **Compliance & Security**: Ensure all data operations adhere to data privacy, GDPR, and security regulations, maintaining high standards of data protection and ethical AI usage.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience with at least Bachelors in relevant study.
- **Programming Skills**: Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- **Data Processing Skills**: Expertise in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and large dataset management to ensure high-quality data for training and testing.
- **Cloud Experience**: Experience in deploying models on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for scalability and accessibility.
- **Problem-Solving Mindset**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for developing data-driven solutions that address real-world challenges.
- **Collaboration Skills**: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, software developers, and product managers, to bring complex solutions to life.
- **Compliance Awareness**: Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices to ensure compliant, ethical use of AI and data science in product development.
