The European School The Hague is a unique school. We were established in 2012 to educate the children of employees of European Union institutions. We provide a multilingual and multicultural education to Early Years, Primary and Secondary school children, culminating in the European Baccalaureate. ESH is part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation. The Foundation stands for excellent education and supports its schools in realising the best education for its students.
Starting from 1 November 2024, our Secondary school is looking for a:
**Student Supervisor**
**(0.5 FTE)**
**Post description**
The student supervisor looks after the welfare of school pupils during their free time. You are responsible for the smooth running of the breaks and coaching students in the desired behaviour. Student supervisors have a range of duties and responsibilities, such as:
- Supervise school pupils in the canteen, the school building and outside
- Help to ensure a safe school climate in and around the school
- Interact with students in a positive and caring way
- Carry out minor first aid
- Supervising students in clearing away and managing the materials used
- Organise lost property items
- Communicate pro-actively with the line manager on issues relating to children’s behaviour.
- Assisting the facilities team in daily tasks
**Requirements and recommendations**
- Training for working with pupils in an education setting
- The ability to manage a group of pupils from 11 to 18
- Good knowledge of the English and Dutch language (knowledge of other European languages is a bonus)
- Calm and patient
- Interest in working with students
- Awareness of the international community in the Netherlands
- First aid experience
- Be flexible, working times between 08:00 to 16:30
- Living in the Netherlands with work permit

- An appointment based on the Dutch teachers' collective labour agreement for secondary education (CAO VO) on the relevant pay scale 2. The specific step in the scale depends on relevant background and experience
