In a constantly changing international context, with rapidly developing regulations and societal expectations. The challenge of dealing with that continuous change while servicing our customers as good as we can, is what drives us every day.
We also believe that compliance is an integral part of doing business and that everyone has a responsibility. Whenever we interact with our clients, work together with partners, structure our products and services, or run our back office operations. Across our global organization.
The highly motivated team members of the Compliance team support Robeco to ensure the company remains a sound and compliant asset manager. They identify external regulations, assist in risk assessments, develop and implement internal guidance and organize training and awareness. But they also maintain oversight, advise, challenge, investigate, monitor and report on compliance and maintain supervisory relations. They act as a partner to the business in its achievements to serve our clients and reach our strategic goals. Cooperating actively with the business and other teams within Robeco is a key focus point. Just as focusing on modern compliance practices making use of data, technologies and new ways of working.
Compliance covers a wide range of topics, such as CDD/AML, Market abuse, Fraud, ESG, Treating clients fairly and Privacy as well as rules relating to behavior of staff (e.g. private investments, gifts & entertainment and conflicts of interest). All being integrated in our international asset management business.
- Compliance team Robeco_
The Compliance team covers Robeco’s global activities, including headquarters in Rotterdam, various international offices within the EU, and also our locations in the USA (New York), APAC (Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney), Dubai and Switzerland. The team in Rotterdam now consists of 15 employees, but we also have local Compliance Officers in various other international offices. Worldwide we are with 28. The team also works closely together with other control functions at Robeco like Risk Management, Legal and Internal Audit. The team members all enjoy working hard and being challenged. Professionalism is key.
Position & Requirements
Together with the team members in Rotterdam and the local Compliance Officers, the Compliance Officer is able to identify risks, assess developments in the rules as well as changing opinions in society regarding behavior, and to translate these into activities and internal procedures for Robeco. Next to this he/she will communicate and advise management and the business on compliance themes and monitor and report on compliance with the rules and regulations_._
- University degree, preferable with a legal background
- Around 3-5 years’ experience in compliance (more experience in other areas is welcome), preferably at an asset manager or financial institution.
- Good and precise verbal and written communication skills (also in English).
- Firm, enjoyable and connecting personality with the ability to collaborate with our local Compliance Officers and in cross functional settings.
- A business and client driven mindset, ability to work in a changing environment and focus and skills to execute and deliver.
- Experience with project management, lean & agile is a pre.
- Affinity with IT, Data analytics and data driven processes.
