**Functiebeschrijving**: You will contribute significantly to research within the department by collaborating with staff members within existing research lines. The focus is on supporting PhD students and Postdocs in experimental design, analysis (including quality control and statistical aspects), and reporting results from large 'omics' datasets. In addition, you contribute to a strong data infrastructure within the department through implementation of standardized workflows for data processing, storage and analysis, and through supervision of data stewards. Finally, you contribute to the performance of assigned management and administrative duties within the department.
**Wat vragen wij**:
We are looking for a colleague who has received training at the BSc and/or MSC level in computational biology, systems biology or bioinformatics, and has a PhD degree. You have demonstrable methodological, statistical and computational expertise and knowledge of biomedical research. You are focused on collaboration and accurate in data processing and reporting. The department has a strong international orientation, which means that fluency in Dutch and English is a must. If you also have experience in supervising PhD students and supporting staff, we would be very happy.

The UMCG has a preventive Hepatitis B policy. The UMCG can provide you with the vaccination, should it be required for your position.

In case of specific professions a ‘Certificate of Good Conduct’ is required.

**Wat bieden wij**: This is a full-time vacancy (36 hours per week/1.0 FTE). The position will initially be on a temporary basis for a year, after which permanent employment is possible. Location is Groningen. The salary is a maximum of €6.402;
- gross per month (salary scale 11), depending on your qualifications and relevant experience, based on a full-time appointment. The UMCG will offer you 8% holiday pay, and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The conditions of employment comply with the Collective Labour Agreement for Medical Centres (CAO-UMC).
