Engineering Supervisor Axle and Transmission

As an experienced supervisor, you are the driving force behind the complex mechanical and mechatronic systems within the Axle and Transmission group For the Axle and Transmission group, part of global powertrain product development, we are seeking an engineering supervisor. You will also be tasked with organizing the group and ensuring they have all the necessary resources and support to collectively work towards achieving the desired end result.

Since the group is expandin, one of your responsibilities will be to support this task by carefully selecting the most suitable individuals, providing them with assistance based on your expertise, and actively contributing to their ongoing development.

Finally, you will be operating within the domain of e-mobility. Additionally, you will also be responsible for ensuring that conventional products meet the new product requirements.

As the Engineering Supervisor for Driveline & Axles, you will have the following responsibilities:

- Leading, coaching, and motivating a team of approximately 12-15 engineers in the field of transmission and axle development.
- Ensuring efficient utilization of available engineers and project budgets in collaboration with various project managers.
- Providing input for planning and budgeting, and monitoring the realization in terms of technology, timing, and budget.
- Responsible for achieving the specified requirements in terms of functionality, lifespan, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability of released parts and systems.
- You will be responsible for initiating and monitoring risk reduction plans, as well as managing and monitoring supplier developments for systems developed by suppliers.
- Building, securing, and managing specific development knowledge within the field. The increasing electrification of our vehicles will impact the structure and position of this group of engineers.

The axles are developed by DAF PACCAR in Eindhoven and produced in our Axles plant in Westerlo (Belgium). For the transmissions and axle components we work closely with suppliers who design and produce the relevant parts for us.

Axles & Transmissions is responsible for functional integration with other Powertrain components and works together with the vehicle development divisions for the functional integration with vehicle systems. To succeed in this position you will need a Bachelor+ or Master degree in a technical direction.

In addition:

- Demonstrable experience in leading engineers and managing development processes;
- Preferred: Experience as a supervisor within the DAF (Product Development) organization;
- Analytical insight with an ability for abstract thinking;
- Familiarity with development methodologies such as Design For Six Sigma (DFSS);
- Working with and managing multidisciplinary teams poses no problem for you;
- Proficient in both spoken and written Dutch and English; knowledge of the German language is preferred.
