Financial Controller
Full-time position (40 hours/week)
**Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any variances or discrepancies.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, and other adjustments as needed.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations (internal control framework).
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as requested.
- Prepare the organization’s tax and regulatory reporting (BTW, CBS, VPB, WKR, et cetera).
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide support for the annual budgeting process and the preparation of financial forecasts.
- Review and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and support to staff members within the accounting department.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with our India team on reporting and optimizing our AR/AP administration flows.
**Experience & Education**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of working experience in a financial role
- Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards experience is a plus)
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP) and understanding of Dutch Tax regulations (including the basics of Transfer Pricing requirements)
- Advanced proficiency in English and Dutch (both writing and speaking)
- Advanced Excel knowledge
