Assistant Restaurant Manager

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Staff Management**:
- Supervise and support front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of new employees.
- Schedule shifts and manage employee time off requests.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- **Customer Service**:
- Ensure excellent customer service by monitoring staff performance and addressing any issues.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all patrons.
- **Operational Oversight**:
- Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure adequate supplies.
- Assist with ordering supplies and managing vendor relationships.
- **Financial Management**:
- Assist in managing cash handling procedures, including reconciling daily sales and deposits.
- Monitor and control operational costs, including labor and inventory.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning as needed.
- **Quality Control**:
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensure that service standards are consistently met.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dining area, bar, and restrooms to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and other supervisors to ensure smooth operation.
- Foster a positive team environment and promote open communication.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a restaurant or hospitality setting is required.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and service standards.
- **Skills**:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with restaurant POS systems and basic computer skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both in speaking, writing and reading.
**Working Conditions**:
- Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work may involve exposure to hot and cold temperatures, as well as potentially noisy environments.
