Legal Counsel

**De functie**:

- Advising all KLK OLEO Europe companies on all legal issues (with the exception of labor and tax law), in particular in corporate, distribution, commercial and civil law and regulatory matters, with national and international scope;
- Preparation of various contract templates as well as review, drafting and negotiation of individual contracts in a national and international context, primarily in English;
- Development and management of the contract management process and the contract database at European level;
- Supporting the management of KLK OLEO Europe's insurance portfolio, handling major claims, standardizing reporting;
- Support with data protection coordination at KLK OLEO Europe, but also at the individual group companies;
- Participation in projects with legal implications at national, European and global level (e.g. ESG, REACH)
- Representation of KLK OLEO Europe interests in extrajudicial matters and management of external legal advisors;
- Monitoring and analyzing legal developments (ESG), legislative changes and case law as well as assessing the resulting legal risks for KLK OLEO Europe and the Group companies, including the development of possible strategies for action;
- Reviewing internal company processes from a legal perspective, improving processes and thus minimizing legal risks
- Standardization/digitalization of processes with legal relevance

**Functie-eisen**:

- A civil law degree (at least Master level) from a European university;
- At least 5 years post graduate experience as a legal professional (law firm or inhouse) in an international structure and industrial environment;
- Business fluent in written and spoken English, Dutch and German. And preferably in French;
- General civil, distribution, commercial and corporate law with the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new areas of law, including those with an international dimension (EU and national);
- International and extensive experience in the area of contracts (civil and common law);
- Interest in and technical affinity for (contract) databases and associated processes
- Knowledge of environmental, insurance and data protection laws
- Industry knowledge in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry desirable
- Willingness to travel in Europe when necessary.
