**Company Description**
The Natural Resources - Oil, Gas & Chemicals business line carries out port-related inspections and controls for clients active in the oil and (petro-) chemical sector. SGS Oil, Gas & Chemicals is the market leader in this field and has the widest variety of inspections and controls in the (petro-) chemical sector. This department started in the 1960s in one of the largest ports in the world, Rotterdam. In order to guarantee quality, extremely high demands are placed on the execution of all activities.
SGS Netherlands is launching a new business in the petrochemical industry. From our main laboratory in Spijkenisse, we take over the full process control of a petrochemical plant. Right now, we're in the process of assembling an entirely new team and you can be part of it
In the position of Chemical Analyst, you independently perform a broad spectrum of chemical analyses on liquid oil products, such as gasoline and fuel oil, using various physical techniques such as GC, ICP and HPLC. You will also be involved in titrations and wet chemical analyses. Our laboratory has not so long ago been renovated and renewed, the laboratory is ISO9001 certified and ISO17025 accredited.
Since we've just started recruiting for this new team, we can't tell you who your new teammates will be yet. Since you will be integrated as a team in our Petrochemical laboratory in Spijkenisse, we can tell you a bit more about the composition of the overall lab technicians. We employ around 30 different nationalities.
You will carry out the work in a two-shift system. The working hours of the morning shift are from 06:00 to 14:00 and the evening shift from 14:00 to 22:00.
**Qualifications**
- You have at least an MBO/Associates or equivalent entree level chemical education
- Laboratory training/experience is a plus but not mandatory. We offer you comprehensive internal and/or external training
- Working proficiency in English.
- Please note:_ In this role, you are required to work in 2 shifts.**
