**Description**

The Finance Controller plays a significant role in driving the company’s local financial strategies and acts as key critical support for the EU Finance Director, Site Director Geleen, and General Manager Specialty Solutions. This role ensures business operational and procedural compliance with internal company policies to mitigate risk for the Company. This position also leads the Accounting team in Geleen, Netherlands, and through this team provides support for all general accounting, technical accounting, plus income tax reporting and schedule preparation with support from external public accounting, as well as acts as a liaison for external parties related to these functions. The role is also responsible for all Netherlands local financial management, ensuring effective financial control, compliance and reporting.

**Job Details**

**Role Specific Responsibilities**:
- Work closely with the EU Finance Director to continue the development of a world-class accounting function, encompassing all areas of accounting, including successful integration of site reporting into Aurorium structure; setting common practices for all businesses and drive consistency in reporting, compliance, accounting treatments, and practices globally.
- Oversee and actively close the books for month end within the set timeline.
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare consolidated GAAP statements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports to global and local recipients.
- Ensure that all statutory reporting requirements are met within the timetable.
- To play a lead role in recommending improvements and the integration in European business processes.
- To provide technical supervision of and to co-ordinate training activity within the Finance/Accounting team in Geleen ensuring efficient progression and distribution of workloads in line with skills/expertise available and the service meets company’s requirements.
- Serve as the point person for all questions/requests/report preparation during internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare statutory accounts with the team working closely with the appointed auditors to ensure a smooth and timely submission of financials. Support the UK consolidated audit.
- Manage relationships with local authorities and banks, ensuring all requests and deadlines are met efficiently, maintaining a strong relationship.
- Drive NWC awareness, report on performance, set targets for the sites and recommend ways to improve.
- Oversee and drive internal audit procedures for the business
- To carry out special projects or other ancillary duties connected with the company as requested.
- Ensure monthly reporting for business & operational functions.
- Work effectively with the Speciality Solutions business manager providing insight and direction on the business as well as producing accurate forecasts and yearly budgets.
- Work to tight deadlines, effectively managing changing priorities.
- Oversee and challenge the weekly 13 week rolling cash forecast.
- Quarterly travel to other European locations, may need to work local public holidays to adhere to US closing schedule.
- Effectively communicate with global regions including US, China, India and Europe.
