The key responsibility regarding the role of the program assistant is to provide support for the program and community building. The program assistant is part of the program team managed by the academic coordinator.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Research in the area of law and digital technologies;
- Prepare a final PhD dissertation;
- Disseminating academic results in leading international and peer-reviewed scientific journals and top-tier conferences;
- Communicating your results to the broader public in different formats, such as blog posts, podcasts, media material;
- Contributing to the team spirit of eLaw.
- As program assistant: providing information to students, support to course coordinators, support to the programme board, community building between students.

**Selection criteria**:

- Knowledge in the field of law and technology in the EU, as evidenced through an LLM and preferably some relevant work experience. Knowledge of EU law, education and/or work experience in the law of one of the Member States of the European Union is essential;
- A completed research master or an advanced master on Law and Digital Technologies is considered an advantage;
- Strong interest in law and technology topics, for instance, data protection law, data ethics, platform regulation, digital vulnerability, AI regulation, consumer protection;
- Experience with empirical legal research, including survey and questionnaire preparation, interviews, and data processing is considered an advantage;
- Excellent writing qualities, demonstrated in a thesis and preferably also in publications.
- Ability to work in multi-stakeholder and complex research teams consisting of people with different backgrounds;
- Experience in working in multidisciplinary and/or international teams, including sensitivity and inclusiveness regarding cultural differences among staff and students;
- Enthusiastic and proactive, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, spoken and written;
- Excellent team player and warm community builder;
- Excellent English, spoken and written. Command of other European languages, e.g., Dutch, is an advantage.

For the role of program assistant:

- Dexterity with communication tools and learning management systems, and ability to quickly figure out new tools and modes of operation.
- Familiarity with the program is preferred (current or former Advanced Master student or alumnus).
- and time management skills.

**Terms & Conditions**:

- This is a 0.8-1.0 fte position. The start date is around June-August 2024. The initial period of employment in this position is for 1 year. If the employee performs well, this will be extended with another 3 years.
- Salary range from € 2.770;
- to € 3.539;
- gross per month (based on a fulltime position in scale P, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
