Kite Operator

This year, Kitepower will operate the first Airborne Wind Energy Center of Excellence in Spain. The site will be located on La Gomera Island. The operations team is currently seeking passionate kite operators eager to assist Kitepower’s flight managers and contribute to the development and deployment of Kitepower’s commercial AWES to La Gomera.

As a kite operator at Kitepower, you will be responsible for preparing hardware for flights, participating in field execution of flights, and post-processing flight data. Initially, you will undergo a 6-month hands-on training at Kitepower’s flight center in Bangor Erris, Ireland. Subsequently, you will be involved in deploying Kitepower’s system to La Gomera, where operations will commence in the fall of 2024.

**Tasks**:

- Prepare and perform the flights and tests of the Kitepower Hawk 30 kW and Falcon 100kW systems
- Assist the engineering team during the flights
- Perform integrity checks on electromechanical equipment
- Monitor and control the Kitepower system
- Handle and organise the equipment on the flight center
- Maintain Operations hardware (launch equipment, cameras etc.)
- Maintain flight center location
- Supply flight protocols and documentation to other departments

**Extra Assets**:

- Degree in technical branches or proven hands on experience with technical and practical tasks
- Experience in handling/flying kites
- Spanish speaking
- Drivers license class BE
- Passion for wind sports
