Working safely has the highest priority at Zeolyst. We want everyone to be able to do their job safely and return home healthy. That is why we have strict safety and environmental regulations. The main goal of the HSES Manager is to Lead the HSE function for the Delfzijl, NL Zeolyst operating site, providing continuous improvement support, tools and strategies to the wider organization in achieving Best-in-Class HSE performance. Maintains a presence in the plant and provides practical technical HSE service and field-based support to the site.

**Your responsibilities** **are among another things**:

- Proposes, develops and partners with plant/operating management to implement HSE continuous improvement strategies and tools that ensure compliance and support safe operating performance.
- Directly services the HSE function at the site, including the following types of tasks: leading and/or participating in process safety studies and MOCs; risk evaluations, pre-start-up safety reviews; HSE permitting; inspections; audits; training; contractor safety processes; and monitoring and reporting of HSE performance against improvement plans and targets.
- Serves as a driver of legislative-required improvements or changes to ensure the site remains in compliance and works with the line organization and consultants/contractors to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies, procedures and management systems. Must remain current with applicable Dutch HSE regulations.
- Develops, implements and/or trains others to implement HSE procedures, requirements and management systems. Shares, identifies and imports Best Practices from internal and external sources to encourage the development of an effective HSES toolkit.
- Develops HSES training materials, conducts training and/or trains-the trainer when other site resources are involved in HSES training.
- Conducts and/or participates in recordable, Level 3, Life-Saving Behavior and High Potential incident investigations as necessary.
- Assists the site organization in ensuring maintenance of ISO 14001 management systems/certifications and equivalent where more specialized HSE knowledge is required. Serves as the interface with appropriate Registrar relative to ISO 14001 (and any other HSES ISO Standard area) to ensure maintenance of Certification. Participates in HSES compliance audits and PQP audit process, including corrective action planning to completion. Serves as a qualified auditor for other ecovyst PQP audits.
- Serves as primary HSE input on operating capital budgets as well as a reviewer/approver of capital spending requests. Provides guidance for HSE management of substantial projects.
- Works with the Delfzijl organization in identifying sustainability improvement opportunities and implementing Climate-Change/GHG/Waste Reduction goals.
- As a member of the Ecovyst HSES Department, takes functional direction from the Ecovyst VP of HSES and works in conjunction with other Ecovyst HSES Managers/Specialists in developing and implementing higher level management systems and processes. Is a key player in working with the site line organization to ensure implementation of corporate HSE management systems, policies, Perfect Days process, Life Saving Behaviors, Stop.Think.Act. the Preventive Injury Ratio and leading indicators, Enablon and the Green Diamond SIP as it pertains to Delfzijl.

**You are**:

- Appropriate Dutch Degree or Certification relevant to HSE in NL or B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Health & Safety or equivalent technical degree
- Appropriate NL/EU environmental/safety certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years overall HSE experience, including heavy weighting to direct facility-based HSE technical support with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong leadership skills required, including the ability to identify, communicate and drive HSES improvement plans and culture change.
- Must be able to effectively serve as a change and continuous improvement agent while also working cooperatively with the site organization and as part of the ecovyst HSE management team.
- Solid experience in multiple HSE areas a plus (environmental, health, occupational safety, process safety, etc.)
- Familiarity with a wide range of Dutch HSE regulations, effective techniques for complying
