Space Modeler

At UniSystems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Space Modeler to join our UniQue team in Belgium

What will you be doing in this role:

- Provide analyses and modeling related to the institution's space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) projects and other space business projects.
- Enhance existing mathematical space models or develop new analysis models.
- Further developing the project's math model.
- Analyzing the capabilities, orbits, and behaviors of space-based assets.
- Modeling space threats, such as debris.
- Work will be conducted in independent sprints using an Agile and iterative approach.
- Each sprint is expected to last approximately 4 weeks.
- Along with the service manager you will define the scope and content of each sprint during a sprint-planning meeting.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

The consultancy support for this work requires a software developer with the following qualifications:

- Nationally recognized/certified university qualification related to space engineering and or mathematical modelling
- Experience developing complex mathematical models of space
- Understanding of current space capabilities, particularly focused on space based ISR
- Experience in orbital mechanics modelling
- Must have excellent spoken and written English communication and presentation skills, as demonstrated by recent experience (within the past 5 years) in programming for web applications
- Must have recent experience building mathematical models using MATLAB, powerBI or other modelling and simulation tools/software
- Must demonstrate the ability and self-motivation to work on his/her own but must also work well within groups as part of a team
- Must demonstrate an ability and keen sense for problem-solving
- Motivated, good communication skills, team player
- Knowledge of the institution's responsibilities and organization is desired
- Knowledge of National intelligence processes would be desired
- Advanced research and analytical skills
