About the Role
The Big Capital Engineer will play a key role in proactively identifying issues in returned capital equipment and determining the repair path for each piece of equipment or providing installation support. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that issues are thoroughly investigated using core engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions to eliminate failure modes.
- Ensure corrective actions comply with Quality and Regulatory requirements.
- Document results in technical summaries.
- Work with Post Market Vigilance to proactively identify emerging trends and provide technical counsel to management.
- Develop processes for testing, rework, repair, and disposition of Service Returned products.
- Perform service and repair of designated electronic or mechanical products.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality teams, and the Complaint department to determine product failures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience or Master's degree with 3 years of experience in the medical device industry.
- Experience in leading and serving in a technical role for Failure Analysis or Reliability Engineering.
- Experience with Big Capital platform or complex mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to engineering, especially product development, manufacturing engineering, and failure modes.
- Experience with a variety of software packages, e.g., Agile, SAP, etc.
