In today's corporate landscape, the significance of reliable sustainability information in annual reports is on the rise. With the introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and the EU Taxonomy, many companies across Europe are now required to enhance their reporting on non-financial performance.
Within the Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) division, sustainability has emerged as a key strategic focus. We provide guidance to our clients regarding the EU Taxonomy, and with the evolving role of auditors, we have established the Competence Center for EU Taxonomy (EUTCC). If you are interested in a distinctive advisory role while also supporting audit teams as a subject matter expert, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.
Your Responsibilities Become a subject matter expert in the EU Taxonomy. Assist clients in interpreting EU Taxonomy requirements while also supporting audit teams. Act as a liaison among various KPMG departments, including CMAAS, Sustainability, Audit, and the Department of Professional Practice. Maintain a critical mindset and collaborate effectively with team members. Deliver training sessions on non-financial reporting. Adapt seamlessly to different team environments.
Your Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Control, or a related field. Certification as an accountant (RA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent). 5-8 years of relevant experience, particularly in external audit. Genuine interest in sustainability practices. Experience with non-financial reporting is preferred. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to perform under pressure. Ability to work independently while engaging with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency in English for communication with international clients.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Manager in the CMAAS team, you will experience a steep learning curve. This specialized department advises clients on intricate accounting and reporting issues, including the latest EU Taxonomy requirements.
Your role within the Competence Center EU Taxonomy will be unique. You will receive training to become a subject matter expert in the EU Taxonomy. During the first and last quarters of the year, your primary focus will be assisting audit teams, while the rest of the year will allow for additional advisory engagements. This presents a chance to shape your role and work with a diverse range of clients as they adapt to EU Taxonomy reporting standards.
The blend of audit assistance and advisory work will provide you with the opportunity to collaborate with various professionals at KPMG both locally and internationally, as sharing knowledge and experiences is essential.
