Senior Telemetry Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of network telemetry systems to collect and aggregate metrics and data from network devices and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to define new products and services, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
  • Work closely with design and equipment vendors to implement changes, additions, and upgrades to telemetry infrastructure.
  • Develop and publish standards and documentation for new telemetry architectures and configurations.
  • Research and develop life-cycle plans and roadmaps for new and existing network telemetry technologies.
  • Provide support to the wider Operations team as required.
  • Ensure alignment with company objectives for ISO 9001/18001/27001 accreditation.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Operations, Engineering, Architecture, or Design roles on a service provider network.
  • Deep knowledge of carrier-class routers, console servers, and switches, with experience in Juniper and Cisco required.
  • Excellent understanding of L2 & L3 routing protocols, including IPv4+IPv6, BGP, ISIS, VPLS, IP VPN, MPLS, QinQ, ELINE, and good knowledge of firewalls and network security practices.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with DWDM networks and optical networking standards is advantageous.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Confident and able to challenge staff, suppliers, and processes to deliver a favorable customer outcome.
  • Pragmatic and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Accountability-oriented.
  • Proactive mindset and attitude to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, written, and verbal.
  • Ability to diversify and adapt to changes in business needs or requirements.
