Job Description

You will be part of an experienced international team of the Platform Development group of DAF Embedded Engineering, located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The team delivers world-class engineering in the domains of engine controllers and vehicle controllers. Embedded Engineering works closely with PACCAR Embedded Engineering, located in Renton, USA.

The products developed within Embedded Engineering are applied on DAF trucks, as well as in the famous PACCAR brands Kenworth and Peterbilt. Through component sales, our products are used by leading bus and coach manufacturers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Definition and management of hardware and base software requirements throughout the development cycle and after release to production.
  • Coordination of validation activities, support in defect analysis and resolution planning with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Creation of development deliverables (including Design For Six Sigma) according to the DAF Product Creation Process (PCP).
  • Initiation and definition of risk analysis and validation plans for both hardware and software components.
  • Preparation of system documentation for release to Manufacturing and After Sales.
  • Alignment with all internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Software Team, Marketing, After Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supplier).

The Hardware Lead Engineer reports to the Engineering Supervisor EE System Engineering with respect to process and quality, as well as to the corresponding Project Lead Engineer for project status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Automotive/Embedded Engineering or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience in a coordinating role.
  • 3 years of experience with Embedded System Development.
  • Experience with supplier management.
  • Team player, pro-active, strong analytical skills, problem-solving attitude.
  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma methodology.
  • Good English skills are mandatory, combined with Dutch (or at least willingness to learn Dutch).

Terms of Employment

Contract through Yacht of at least 1 year, following the salary chart of DAF Trucks. The salary range depends on the highest earned degree and years of experience, between 3,400 and 4,940 gross per month, based on 36 hours a week (excluding holiday allowance of 8.33% of the hour work week).

Yacht also offers benefits, including a home office budget of 750 and annually a budget of 3,500 for following courses to further develop in your career.
