About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to join our Big Data team in R&D at Mendix. If you have a vision for how the team and Mendix should evolve in this domain, we'd love to discuss these ideas with you.

Our teams are independent, but you won't be alone. You'll have the opportunity to interact and work closely with other teams across Mendix. We're a hybrid company, and we expect you to join the office one to two days per week. More is never a problem.

  • Ensure that your part of the platform runs smoothly and securely. This is an integral part of our customer's setup and is used for their mission-critical systems.

We're Looking for You If:
  • You have 5+ years of software development experience as a full-stack developer with Java Microservices. Good experience with Go or Python is also a plus.
  • You're an artisan who can create reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
  • You understand the mindset: you build it, you run it.
  • You lead by example.
  • You have a home address within a reasonable commute time from our Rotterdam office or are open to relocating to the Netherlands.
  • You're willing to work with the Mendix low-code application development suite. 20% of your time will be in this domain.
  • You thrive in unknowns and welcome challenges along the way. You're able to strike a balance between experimenting and pragmatism.
  • You're able to find the right tool/language for the problem. Currently, we work in Java, Python, and Go.
  • You have previously worked with Cloud providers like AWS and have working knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, AWS, OpenSearch, Kafka, Aurora vector db.
