**Revolutionizing Medicine through Advanced Robotics**

The University of Twente is seeking a highly skilled PhD researcher to contribute to the development of innovative surgical robots and medical devices. This research project aims to improve clinical outcomes by enhancing the targeting accuracy of minimally invasive procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop methods for modeling and controlling soft/flexible surgical devices and medical microrobots
  • Design and implement techniques for tracking and controlling the path of novel devices using images (MR and ultrasound imaging modalities)
  • Collaborate with the Department of Biomechanical Engineering and other institutions to advance the field of medical robotics

**Requirements:**

  • Master's degree in mechanical, biomedical, electrical engineering, applied physics, or nanotechnology
  • Excellent skills and practical experience in system dynamics and control, robotics, mechatronics, mechanical design, image processing, or nano-/micro-fabrication technologies
