The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks from a 2nd line of defense perspective, focusing on ESG risk governance and coordination. Initial priorities include climate change and environmental risks, followed by an integrated ESG risk approach.

About the Role

  • Act as central liaison for ESG risks at MBE's Amsterdam office, collaborating with EMEA Head Office in London and Global Head Office in Tokyo.
  • Take ownership of MBE's Reputational Risk Policy, ensuring risk understanding and management.
  • Guide ESG risk embedment in risk frameworks, risk appetite, and internal risk controls at MBE.
  • Coordinate work with Risk colleagues, providing expertise in ESG risk identification, assessment, and management.
  • Document risk assessments, prepare management information, and support internal integrated stress testing, ICAAP, and Risk Appetite processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or MBA/Professional Qualification (e.g., CFA/FRM).
  • Tangible work experience in risk management, strategy, or risk advisory roles; ESG, climate change, or sustainability experience is advantageous.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Experience working across departments and functional fields.

MUFG provides a competitive gross salary based on experience ($80,000 - $120,000), along with a comprehensive benefits package, including:
