We are seeking an Assistant Professor in Music and Media to join our dynamic team at Universiteit Utrecht. As a key member of our department, you will contribute to the research, teaching, and public engagement of our faculty.
Key Responsibilities- Teach in the Dutch, English, and/or other languages as required.
- Conduct research in the field of music and media, with a focus on media theory and history, European cinema, psychology of audiovisual analysis, and/or complementary expertise.
- Develop and teach courses in musicology, media studies, and related fields.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the department and faculty to develop innovative research projects and teaching initiatives.
- Engage with the professional field of music and media, and contribute to the development of our department's research and teaching programs.
- PhD in a relevant field, such as musicology, media studies, or a related field.
- Strong research and teaching profile in music and media, with a focus on media theory and history, European cinema, psychology of audiovisual analysis, and/or complementary expertise.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to teach in multiple languages, including Dutch and English.
- Experience in developing and teaching courses in musicology, media studies, and related fields.
- A 12-month employment contract with the prospect of a permanent employment contract.
- A working week of 38 hours and a gross monthly salary between € 4,332,- and € 5,929,- in the case of full-time employment.
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus.
- A pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible terms of employment.
