System Service Technician

The System Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of laboratory instruments at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position involves performing planned maintenance, repairs, and verification services on a variety of innovative instruments in a life science environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides planned maintenance and repair services for laboratory instruments.
- Collaborates with the Thermo Fisher Scientific Commercial Customer Excellence Hub team to provide instrument services.
- Displays professionalism, understanding, and technical knowledge in all interactions.
- Follows all reporting responsibilities and maintains accurate records.
- Is familiar with and follows policies related to spare parts management, ordering, usage, returns, and inventory management.
- Maintains technical competency by attending trainings, staff meetings, and staying up-to-date on new products, markets, customers, and competitors.
- Communicates regularly and effectively with management and internal partners.
Requirements:
- Requires a degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
- Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written in English.
- Basic technical, electronics, and mechanical knowledge.
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Punctuality and organizational skills.
- Exercises sound logic and judgment in setting work priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven record of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Interest in learning and understanding instruments, IT systems, and processes.
Working Conditions:
Requires the ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
