Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Technology Officer to join our team at Carbyon. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing our technology vision and strategy, driving innovation and leading successful R&D projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with Carbyon's vision and goals
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that can provide competitive advantages
  • Communicate the technology strategy to stakeholders, including investors, management team, board, and team members
  • Lead the Research & Development of our technology, overseeing the product development process from concept to release
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality and scalable product that meets market needs and regulatory standards
  • Build a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
  • Set clear goals, cultivate feedback, and ensure professional growth opportunities for team members
  • Be an advocate of best practices across different competencies, such as model-based system design
  • Collaborate with external partners, including universities, research institutions, and industry experts, to leverage cutting-edge technologies
  • Represent Carbyon at industry events, conferences, and public forums to build our reputation and network
  • Develop and enforce technology policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices
  • Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Monitor and control technology expenditures to align with Carbyon's financial objectives
  • Drive and manage initiatives for securing non-dilutive funding for R&D initiatives, such as national and international subsidies and grants
  • Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, staying updated on relevant regulations and standards to ensure Carbyon's compliance
  • Take responsibility for Carbyon's IP strategy and the implementation of robust processes for IP Management, including patents, trade secrets, and confidential information about key technology components

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's or PhD in the field of science or engineering, with extensive experience in a senior technology leadership role within a technology-driven start-up. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of driving innovation and leading successful R&D projects, with experience in scaling technology teams and managing complex technical projects. They should also be strong in analytical and conceptual thinking, capable of assessing detailed technical reports from domain specialists, and able to truly listen and challenge team members. Additionally, they should bring the ability to propose innovative solutions data-driven, be a strong strategic thinker, problem-solver, and decision-maker, and be a strong leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills, reassuring and radiating confidence.
