Junior Plant Physiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Plant Physiologist to join our team at Enza Zaden. As a Junior Plant Physiologist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing crop cultivation methods and systems to accelerate the seed-to-seed cycle of our crops.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement crop cultivation methods and systems to accelerate the seed-to-seed cycle of Enza Zaden crops.
- Create on-demand selection pressure by influencing environmental conditions and manipulating crop cultivation methods in fully controlled, greenhouse, and open-field conditions.
- Conduct literature research, design trials, execute, analyze, and report results to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and developments in plant physiology and develop knowledge on the optimization of climate and cultivation processes.
- Work with different crops that Enza Zaden has to offer and collaborate with colleagues from Breeding, Biotechnology, and R&D Operations to make projects a success.
- Maintain a network with relevant specialists at universities and suppliers.
- Master's degree in Plant Sciences.
- Knowledge and experience with plant physiology, indoor/vertical farming, and open-field conditions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of statistics and familiarity with statistical software (R or similar).
- Basic lab skills or willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with managing projects.
- Excellent and clear communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
