Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Operations Analytics and Data Science team at Albert Heijn. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in designing, building, and deploying data science and optimization algorithms to enhance logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop data science and optimization algorithms to improve logistics operations, such as efficiently grouping store orders, optimizing order picking, and ensuring products are transported sustainably.
- Leverage cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines to continuously integrate and deploy scalable and robust solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to translate complex data insights into practical solutions that improve overall efficiency.
- Effectively communicate complex ideas to various audiences, from technical teams to business stakeholders.
- Work in multidisciplinary product teams to tackle real-world logistics challenges.
- Share expertise and coach other team members.
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience and interest).
- Experience working in logistics or related fields, with a talent for solving complex supply chain puzzles.
- A strong understanding of Operations Research and its real-world application to logistics.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving with a focus on getting things done.
- Proficiency in Python and the Python data science ecosystem.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with modern software development practices (IDEs, Unit Testing, Version Control, CI/CD).
- Experience with cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of a systems programming language (such as C++ or Rust) is a plus.
