We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to join our team at Universiteit Utrecht. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research on the constitutional foundations of strategic autonomy in the field of defence industries.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research on the EU's constitutional foundations and their implications for strategic autonomy in defence industries;
- Develop and apply theoretical frameworks from geopolitics and international relations to analyze the EU's role in defence industries;
- Engage in critical examination of the EU's policymaking processes and their impact on defence industries;
- Produce high-quality research outputs, including academic papers and a PhD thesis;
- Collaborate with our team of researchers and contribute to the development of our research agenda.
- Master's degree in EU law or a related field;
- Strong analytical and research skills, with a proven track record of academic excellence;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Passion for EU law and geopolitics, with a desire to contribute to the development of our research agenda.
- A 4-year PhD position, with a gross monthly salary between €2,872 and €3,670;
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
