At SMART Photonics, we are pushing the boundaries of photonics innovation. As a Principal Scientist - Device Physics Expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology roadmap and driving the development of high-speed integration platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of novel integration technologies, focusing on coherent optical communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster synergy and coherence in technological advancements.
  • Contribute to the advancement of our Process Design Kit (PDK) through modeling and characterization activities.
  • Translate market requirements into feasible technology roadmaps, ensuring our foundry stays ahead as a leading industry player.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Integrated Photonics or a related field with a focus on device physics.
  • Proven track record in InP-based active devices.
  • Over 10 years of industry experience.
  • Outstanding knowledge of PIC design for optical communications, LiDAR, and sensing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions.
