GXO Logistics, Inc. is committed to 'Quality, Environment, Safety and Health' or QESH. To further strengthen the team and support expansions, we are seeking a full-time QESH Officer for our fashion warehouse in Lelystad. As a QESH Officer, you will develop, secure, and continuously improve QESH management systems within the assigned organization, focusing on Safety and Health regulations and certification (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.).

To be successful, you will convey your professional knowledge and emphasize the importance of safety, risk, and quality in a convincing and natural way.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, accurate, and useful QESH advice and support to operational management and staff, including advising on regulations, compliance, and environmental issues.
• Support operational teams, management, and customers on QESH performance and provide root cause analysis for coaching and feedback.
• Drive the positive intervention reporting initiative and encourage near miss reporting.
• Assist the QESH Manager in preparing internal and external reports and assigned projects.
• Engage staff and contractors on QESH performance and support the delivery of objectives and targets.
• Undertake audits of contract depots and staff on site, including out-of-hours audits if required.
• Support audits by internal and external bodies, such as ISO audits.
• Assist operational management in promoting QESH at briefings and meetings and sharing best practices.
• Investigate incidents, provide advice, and support on the legal framework, ensuring learning points are fed into the QESH directorate for continued improvement.
• Evaluate existing and potential subcontractors, including annual auditing of subcontractor management systems.
• Support local managers in contacting QESH regulators, accompanying them on inspections, audits, and responding to complaints and queries.
• Provide feedback on identified QESH risks and advise on possible solutions and remedial actions.
• Work within and promote a culture of safe team working and development across all company activities to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance.
• Promote a culture of zero tolerance for accidents and self-inflicted incidents.
• Consciously reduce environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant area (preferably technical) with high-level analytical skills.
• Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and relevant certification (e.g., ISO 13485, etc.), proven by relevant training.
• Relevant experience in Health & Safety with basic Dangerous Goods knowledge.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a complex and multidimensional organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English, with Spanish as an added advantage.
