About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits you to collaborate with our IT EMEA Commercial team at Boston Scientific.
A Day in the Life of a Solution Architect - EMEA Commercial:
You will work closely with business stakeholders, other architects, product owners, and project managers daily. Your role is to design solutions to solve business challenges that support our Business Strategies.
You will work with the business to understand its strategies and requirements, investigating existing or potential new solutions to implement. You will enable vendor and solution selection processes by assessing solutions, providing high-level cost estimates, and making recommendations.
You will create a roadmap for capabilities together with the business and for the solution, working with different stakeholders and understanding their needs, priorities, and cross-team dependencies. You will identify synergy opportunities and potential collaborations.
You will influence peers and stakeholders to share a vision and explain how goals can be achieved.
Responsibilities may include:
- Understand business needs and challenges, determining effective ways to resolve them
- Guide technology investment decisions based on analysis and evaluation to drive targeted business outcomes, ensuring nonfunctional requirements are met
- Apply multiple technical solutions to enable future-state business capabilities that drive targeted business outcomes
- Identify innovative uses of information systems to provide a competitive advantage for Boston Scientific
- Architecturally support regional or divisional projects and initiatives
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong collaborator, pragmatic, eager to learn
- Practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within the job area
- A bachelor's degree with experience in IT, preferably 1+ years in the Solution Architecture area
- 5+ years in system design and development
- Proficiency in process modeling, architectural deliverables, and architecture solutions (e.g., LeanIX)
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to document communication work clearly and concisely
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in medical device or life sciences industry
- Understand Strategic Planning process and how IT Strategy supports business needs and direction
- Togaf or similar certification
