About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious Lead Analytics Engineer to build and strengthen our Analytics Engineering team.

As a Lead Analytics Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing Artefact's technical expertise and reach through technology watch and involvement in tech communities and blog posts.
  • Collaborating with a team of consultants, data scientists, data analysts, and engineers to identify client needs and define innovative solutions.
  • Coaching others and participating in training sessions with our business partners and suppliers, such as Google and Microsoft.
  • Inspiring both external customers and internal team members and actively contributing to Artefact's growth.

As a Lead Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and executing impactful analytics projects, managing the design and implementation of scalable analytics solutions.
  • Shaping the technical development of the team by mentoring and sharing best practices in analytics engineering.
  • Expanding Artefact's technical footprint by engaging with tech communities, contributing to internal knowledge sharing, and staying ahead with industry trends.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with consultants, data scientists, analysts, and engineers to identify client needs and craft end-to-end analytics solutions.
  • Communication excellence, translating complex technical concepts to both business and technical audiences.
  • Inspiring and coaching, leading training sessions and workshops, both internally and with our business partners, including Google and Microsoft.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Fluency in English, with bonus points for Dutch or French speakers.
  • Academic level education (Master's) in a technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a data-centric role with proven success in delivering analytics solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience in mentoring technical talents.
  • Strong analytical mindset, expertise in building and optimizing data models, transforming raw data into actionable insights.
Technical Background

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proficient in SQL and experience with analytics engineering tools like dbt.
  • Experience with visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience with Python for data manipulation and transformation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data integration tools (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran).
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture concepts (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, CDP, CMP).
  • Experience with Data Marketing solutions (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Data Application tools (PowerApps, AppSheets) is a plus.

  • Ability to anticipate project risks from the design phase and address them proactively.
