About the Role

The Duchess Amsterdam is seeking a skilled and charismatic Host/Hostess to join our team. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and Seating Guests: You will warmly welcome guests and ensure they are seated comfortably, making them feel at ease.
  • Managing Reservations: You will efficiently manage our reservation system, handle phone calls, and accommodate last-minute bookings or VIP guests.
  • Reports and Overviews: You will maintain accurate records and provide insightful reports to track our restaurant's progress.
  • Guest Satisfaction: You will work closely with our General Manager and Head Host/Hostess to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and staff.
  • Multitasking: You should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as answering phones, greeting guests, and managing reservations.
  • Organizational Skills: You should be able to maintain accurate records and keep track of reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: You must be able to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: You should be able to pay close attention to detail, ensuring tables are set up correctly, guests' requests are fulfilled, and menus are clean.
  • Professional Appearance: You should maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • International Approach: You must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Software Skills: You should be proficient in using Office 365.
