About the Job

This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level or graduate candidate to gain valuable industry exposure and enhance their skills in the life sciences industry.

As a Service Technician at Gilson, you will be responsible for repairing, calibrating, and performing preventative maintenance on pipettes. Comprehensive training is provided, combining theory with practice. The training is presented in English and lasts up to 4 weeks.

Although previous experience in laboratory work is a plus, it is not necessary. You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal, as well as the confidence to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality service to all customers
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Maintain and develop customer relations
  • Work with customer service and sales teams to meet targets
  • Perform repetitive tasks accurately in accordance with instructions
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams
  • Use small hand-held tools to perform calibration and repair
  • Attend regular training to maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Follow prescribed safety procedures when handling equipment and hazardous materials
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements
  • Good IT skills (Outlook, Excel, MS Teams)
  • Mechanically inclined, good manual dexterity
  • Quick thinker with problem-solving abilities
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage a busy schedule with relative independence
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
Additional Information

Please note that you must speak English clearly and fluently. Dutch is beneficial. Regular attendance and punctuality are also required, as well as the ability to acquire new skills and accommodate change in the workplace. Within commutable distance from the office is a must.
