Job Overview:

As an HR Manager for one of our plants, you will play a critical role in advising line managers on HR policies, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with Dutch labor laws in a manufacturing environment. This position requires a proactive and strategic approach to HR management, making you part of the management team.

Your key responsibilities will include managing the employment life cycle from recruiting and onboarding to performance management and engagement. You will work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, strengthen corporate culture, and increase productivity and retention. Additionally, you will oversee the coordination of compensation and benefits, and organize trainings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the plant in HR-related matters and overseeing 3 HR employees.
  • Developing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborating with the line manager and being part of the Management Team of the plant.
  • Providing expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Managing employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Taking care of industrial relations at plant level by guiding employees and supporting line management in their relations with the Works Council and the unions.
  • Performing human resources management, coaching, and counseling, policy development, and writing, problem and conflict resolution, investigation, and corrective actions within the specific factory environment.
  • Overseeing recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Ensuring compliance with Dutch labor laws and regulations.
  • Negotiating and discussing with Works council/unions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an HR advisory role in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday, Afas, Protime) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
