About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Professional to join our Global Sustainability team at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our work in championing Regenerative Agriculture and Nature, as well as refining our due diligence processes.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research and analysis to evaluate potential environmental and social risks and impacts associated with our company's activities, products, and suppliers.
  • Supporting the roll out of our Monitoring & Evaluation processes to collect and report on key performance indicators related to our nature and people goals.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to obtain insights on human rights and sustainability performance and initiatives throughout the supply chain and conveying findings effectively.
  • Participating in developing and implementing training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees, suppliers, and partners about sustainability topics.
  • Supporting in preparing sustainability reports, disclosures, and submissions, for internal and external audiences.
  • Supporting in the rollout of Supplier Due Diligence and Supplier Engagement Programme.
  • Collaborating in creating an information and knowledge management system to manage our sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong academic background in a relevant field, such as sustainability, environmental studies, human rights, or international relations.
  • Excellent MS Office skills and fluent speaking and written English proficiency.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills, aimed at driving positive impact.
  • A passion for sustainability and human rights.
  • Availability to dedicate at least 6 months to this internship, preferably from March to August.

Please note that this internship should be included in your study curriculum and directly contribute to your academic results. Your educational institution must be willing to sign a collaboration agreement with JDE Peet's and when joining our Research departments, also sign an NDA agreement for internships. You must be either an EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU(EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
