Job Summary

The Financial Controller is a key member of our team at citizenM, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting and finance & control. As an expert in the field of finance & control, you will focus on the annual accounts, financial reports, internal control framework, and control measures. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with all financial laws and regulations, as well as managing the various audits and internal control processes. You will also act as a sparring partner for the various business controllers, business departments, and management.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely close processes and the preparation of reporting in accordance with GAAP standards and compliance with relevant reporting sustainability frameworks (GRI, ESG, TCFD)
- Maintain a robust balance sheet dossier by making optimal use of Tagetik Account Reconciliation & Transaction Matching
- Own the inputs of your (holding) entities and business teams for financial cycles, financial reporting, closing, and audit cycles, and assist in collecting and validating data related to sustainability initiatives
- Guide and coach accounting functions for ensuring compliance with GAAP standards
- Drive business performance by supporting business teams (part of domain and/or supportive on other domains) on monthly performance and decision making
- Establish internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), perform quality assessments on the internal control procedures within support offices or hotels to ensure financial integrity and compliance
- Drive data analytics and automation through digital tooling such as Tagetik and Power BI
- Work with the business partner team to ensure smooth month-end closing processes
- Support complex accounting issues and partner on technical assessments to ensure all accounting-related items are completed

Qualifications / Skills

- Master's degree in auditing & control / finance & accounting
- Experience in auditing & control and/or finance & accounting (Big 4 experience and familiarity with IFRS is an advantage)
- Ability to maintain a broad overview while paying attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure
- Skilled communicator, able to communicate on various levels and with different stakeholders
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central 365, Power BI, and Tagetik is a plus
- Proactive, flexible, and independent individual
