EMW is seeking a highly skilled Analyst to join our team. As an Analyst, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of analytical and data-related tasks, under the direction and supervision of Operational Analysis (OA) staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake data and operational analysis, including being comfortable with large data sets and supporting analysis of complex problems using simple tools.
- Use various OA techniques, including wargaming, modelling, what-if analysis, etc.
- Translate existing military logic and documented rules from pseudocode into more efficient Python code in a DevOps environment.
- Support data collection, collation, and analysis using a range of tools, including Python, Excel, etc.
- Support OA Centre staff in the development and update of documentation/reports.
- Undertake data collection using a range of sources and present data back in a concise, clear, and logical manner.
- Produce accurate data sets using MS Office tools at an expert level.
- Summarise results to be presented in PowerBI Dashboards, MS PowerPoint presentations, and MS Word documents.
- A currently active NATO SECRET security clearance.
- A bachelor's degree from a nationally recognized/certified University in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, maths/science, operational research/analysis, or economics.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional environment conducting analytical studies to support decision-makers using operational research/analysis tools and techniques.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience using Python to support data analysis.
- Ability to undertake detailed review and analysis of large data sets using commercial and in-house tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, particularly being competent in writing in English and communicating complex results in an understandable way.
This work is to be carried out in EMW offices, with the majority of the work being carried out on NATO Secret systems. Occasional short trips to support OA staff may be required.
