Role Overview

The Electrical Engineering team in this department consists of approximately 100 engineers, all working under the Smart Infrastructure division - one of the world's largest suppliers of products, systems, solutions, and services for sustainable, reliable, and efficient energy transmission and distribution.

Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Engineer Electrical, you'll be accountable for engineering and realising projects related to power distribution in the data centre industry. Your technical expertise will ensure that projects are executed within agreed timelines and budgets.

You'll work closely with the Electrical Engineering team for data centres, comprising around 20 engineers. Due to the growth of our operations, we're seeking a talented Lead Engineer Electrical to join our close-knit and driven team.

A key aspect of this role is managing and supervising Interface- and System engineers who report directly to you. You'll oversee the detailed engineering process, ensuring functional alignment across various designs and disciplines within agreed budget and schedule constraints.

Within projects, your scope includes engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of power distribution systems such as medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, power distribution units, bus bar systems, digital protection, automation, and monitoring systems, as well as modular solutions like E-Houses and Skids.

About You
  • Hold a completed HTS or TU degree in electrical engineering with at least 7 years' experience as (lead) engineer in multidisciplinary projects;
  • Possess practical and theoretical knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, short-circuit and selectivity calculations, and standards like IEC 61439;
  • Havetrained experience in preparing technical reports and test plans;
  • Be creative, positive, able to communicate ideas, and encourage people;
  • Able to develop engineering and execution plans, monitor them, and realise them;
  • Have experience working in a team and managing/coaching engineers;
  • Be communicative, politically savvy, and commercially strong, able to handle critical customers;
  • Flexible and willing to travel regularly for short business trips;
  • Stress-resistant and able to act within a pressured environment;
  • Speak and write English fluently;
  • Preferably also knowledgeable about the Dutch language
What We Offer
  • A gross monthly salary of up to €6,000
  • A 13th-month payment, prorated periodically
  • 8.33% holiday allowance, calculated over 12 months' salary

You'll be seconded through Yacht for a year, with the possibility of being considered for a permanent position at Siemens after this period.
