Quality Assurance Specialist

As a Quality Inspector at Fender, you will be responsible for ensuring that our stringed instruments and amplifiers meet the highest standards of quality. This involves conducting thorough inspections to identify any mechanical or aesthetic defects, performing set-ups, and making minor repairs according to Company specifications.
Attention to detail is critical in this role, as you will be working with precision instruments and equipment. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting completed units for adherence to Fender's quality criteria
- Thoroughly inspecting guitars and amps for finish flaws
- Tuning and testing guitars for playability and intonation
- Making minor adjustments to specifications using hand tools
- Adjusting truss rods and nut finishing on guitars
- Executing basic repairs to inspected instruments and amps, which may include disassembly, buffing, and soldering
This is an indication of the main responsibilities of the role, and the Company reserves the right to amend the content of the role at its discretion.
Key Working RelationshipsYou will be working closely with the Logistics Department, Fender EDCF, Fender Europe Customer Service staff, Fender U.S.A. Quality Inspection departments, Fender U.S.A. Manufacturing, and Far East OEM contacts.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for someone who is used to working in a production environment and has a strong attention to detail. A background in music, particularly as a guitarist or bassist, would be beneficial for guitar inspection. You should also have affinity with measurement and adjustment tools, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
Knowledge of electronics, particularly amps, is also desirable. You will be working with hazardous chemicals, hand tools, machinery, and glues, so you should be comfortable with these materials and equipment.
Some physical demands of the job include standing for long periods, using your hands to handle or feel, and reaching with your hands and arms. You may also be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Good eyesight is required for this role.
