Mechanical Engineering Lead with HVAC Expertise

We seek an experienced Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to join our team in Belgium.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in leading engineering teams and working on complex HVAC designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing HVAC and black utility systems, including calculations, technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • Completing load and system calculations.
  • Developing P&IDs throughout all design stages.
  • Selecting and specifying mechanical system components, such as air handling units, pumps, and cooling towers.
  • Coordinating services and equipment with other disciplines within a design team environment.
  • Reviewing shop drawings and assisting with general construction services.
  • Conducting surveys to gather field-related information for projects or specific tasks.
  • Managing equipment requirements across large project teams.
  • Communicating with clients, vendors, and contractors through email, meetings, and other forms of correspondence.
  • Estimating costs for projects.
  • Managing and planning project work and deliverables.
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Over 10 years of experience in project design as a lead engineer.
  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of various heating and cooling systems, including air and water-side economizers, centrifugal chillers, chilled water distribution, open and closed loop systems, and thermal storage cooling systems.
  • Experience with building automation systems, monitoring, and alarm systems.
  • Good working knowledge of electrical design requirements.
  • Cleanroom design experience in high-tech, medical technologies, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology sectors is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software.
  • Self-motivation, a willingness to develop the company, and a consistent approach to work.
  • A professional demeanor and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Estimated Salary: €90,000 - €120,000 per year.
