Picnic is a revolutionary grocery shopping app that's changing the way people buy groceries. As our company continues to grow rapidly, we're seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join our team and help us develop cutting-edge technologies and processes.

About the Role

As a Tech Lead at Picnic, you will be responsible for leading one of our product tech teams and empowering them to deliver high-quality, secure, and performant solutions for our business. You will work closely with stakeholders from tech and business to translate requirements into scalable and resilient solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions using Java 21, Spring 6, Spring Boot 3, RabbitMQ, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Git, Docker, AWS, Helm, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Vault.
  • Lead project planning, prioritization, and decision-making to ensure business goals are achieved while realizing your long-term technical vision.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Manage a sustainable support model for your product, including bug fixing, feature enhancements, and performance optimization.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in back-end development, including Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading projects and/or teams.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and a passion for complex challenges.
  • Great English skills (no Dutch required) and the ability to structure thoughts and express them clearly verbally and in writing.
