ASML is seeking a highly motivated and skilled research intern to join our Flow Modeling Group. As a research intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects related to fluid dynamics and multiphysics modeling.
Background InformationThe Flow Modeling Group at ASML creates high-quality analysis solutions to advise on design proposals in multiphysics and other multiscale domains. Our team has a common vision towards creating the Digital Twins of ASML lithography machines. The Wafer Table (WT) is an essential part of the lithography machines, and our team is working on developing a WLG model for wafer loading on WT.
Your AssignmentAs a research intern, you will be responsible for updating and testing the existing WLG model for next-generation WT designs. Your tasks may include:
- Understanding the main components of the existing FSI model and its underlying physics and boundary conditions;
- Studying proposed new WT functions, its load and unload sequence, and identifying new features with respect to the existing WT model;
- Introducing each new feature step by step to the existing model;
- Testing representative input variation, including load/unload sequence;
- Preparing a report summarizing model descriptions, problem approach, relevant results, and validation with theory or relevant test results.
To be a match for this internship, you should have:
- A master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline;
- A strong affinity with physics and flow dynamics;
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and 2D/3D flow modeling and structural modeling;
- Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
