Salary

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of approximately $85,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Description

The Marine Assurance Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the highest level of quality and professionalism in all aspects of marine assurance operations. This includes providing day-to-day QHSSE advice and assistance, conducting risk assessments, and developing safety protocols for maritime activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with Fugro's Management System and project-specific documentation;
  2. Identify training needs and bring them to the attention of the Company;
  3. Conduct internal and external assurance and navigational audits, third-party marine inspections, and incident investigations on sea-going vessels;
  4. Develop and implement procedures, standards, and guidelines to ensure vessel operations comply with Fugro safety standards and regulations;
  5. Advise the Company on maritime regulations and their interpretation to ensure Flag State compliance and other maritime regulations and standards;
  6. Maintain regular and timely reporting, administration, updating, and control of all responsibilities through Fugro's management system.

Requirements

  • Academic/higher professional education and/or working level experience as a 2nd officer or higher rank preferably in the offshore industry with Dynamic Positioning experience;
  • Internal Auditor Qualification; NEBOSH international diploma or equivalent preferred, as well as experience in incident investigation;
  • 3 years onshore experience in a similar role;
  • Sound knowledge of International Maritime legislation (ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO etc.) and HSSE regulations;
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written;
  • Focus on continuous improvement and HSSE performance driven.
