Job Description

As an ESH Coordinator at HAL Allergy Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the environmental, health, and safety management systems and procedures are in place and compliant with local and regional legislation. You will work closely with an ESH Officer and report to the Director Operations, collaborating with operational departments to implement Environmental, Safety, and Health measures across the entire Leiden location, including HAL Allergy and HALIX, clean rooms, laboratories, warehouse, and technical spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Health, Safety, and Environmental management system to ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
  • Coordinate and implement proper working conditions and environmental projects.
  • Ensure organizational activities comply with local health, safety, and environment regulations and industry best practices.
  • Work with management to set safety standards compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Be responsible for the Emergency Response organization.
  • Develop systems, policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Arrange for exercises and training.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and identify hazards, advising on these matters.
  • Develop and implement preventive actions for potential hazardous situations.
  • Carry out safety inspections and internal audits, reporting to management for corrective actions.
  • Ensure preventive measures, hazard control, and personal protective equipment are implemented and used.
  • Recordkeeping of all safety-related events and investigations thereof.
  • Investigate and report accidents and near misses, advising on and implementing preventive measures.
  • Compile accident-related data from departments, divisions, and affiliates, preparing annual and periodic reports summarizing the safety status.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's level education (e.g., Hogere Veiligheidskunde or Arbeidshygiëne) or MVK/HVK with more years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in pharmaceutical production and/or chemical laboratory, or in regulated food production.
  • Good knowledge of both English and Dutch, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of storage and transport of dangerous goods (ADR, PGS-15).
